Message Now I'm not gonna say he wasn't just doing speed runs for the fun of it, however he could have been on his way to a call somewhere and was cancelled enroute. The same thing happens to Fire/EMS and we always got nasty phone calls/letters about us supposedly just turning our lights on to go through an intersection w/ a red light. I can promise you that I never did this however I have seen it done so I know not everyone is innocent. However I think the officer should deserve the benefit of the doubt. After all shouldn't you be able to trust a cop and/or his judgement? If not, then why do we still have them? After all with the exception of a few things everything a cop does as far as the choice of ticket/warning or even arrest is the officer's discretion. Atleast here in Texas it is; granted each department may have specific requirements, such as around here if you get caught road racing its automatically an arrest.

:OKC come flying up behind me on I-35 with his lights on. I thought I was busted for sure, but looked down and was barely 7 over. As I changed lanes well ahead of time, he flew by me at 100mph minimum and kept right on going with his lights on. Just before he was too far away to see, he turns off the lights and I notice he wasn't putting anymore distance between us, he just cruises along at traffic speed.
:Guy must have decided he just wanted to leg out his Charger a little bit. He never pulled anyone over, nothing. Just drove along like it never happened for a few miles after doing a 100+mph run. I had to really convince myself not to catch up to him and take down the car number and write a letter to the mayor's office. The only reason I didn't is because I do not want his job. That still does not change the fact, that had I not seen him coming in my mirror and made a lane change, he easily could have killed me or anyone else for that matter.
:I'm sure very little restraint was shown in that TT unless only the most senior officers were allowed to drive it. I have heard similar stories about the M5's BMW used to give to SC law enforcement years ago.
